An over-active imagination, passionate about the creative process, and addicted to chocolate. That's me in a nutshell. But there’s more…
It was while we were living in Rome that I began drawing and inventing creatures and characters. I was two years old at the time and the kids’ shows on Italian TV were all classic Japanese anime (mainly Goldrake, Jeeg and Mazinger), in which giant robots were fighting huge monsters on a daily basis. My young, impressionable mind stood no chance, and I started to draw my own versions of all the robots and monsters and spaceships, and I loved it. It’s a love that has stayed with me ever since, and I expect it will still be around until I am too old and feeble to use a futuristic, 4D, holographic wacom pen to transfer something from my imagination into the real world, or a console controller to beat my great-grandchildren (who don't even exist yet), in whatever game they dare challenge me with.
In those early days, I had no idea this could be a profession. But as I grew up (always drawing, always inventing), I began to realize that, on these shows (and later, computer games) people were actually getting paid to come up with, draw and animate all those amazingly cool things – which was all stuff I had been doing anyway for fun...
So when, eventually, the question came up - "What am I going to do with my life?" I already knew the answer.
Also, I like chocolate VERY much.
